Hardwar / Haridwar (Hindi: हरद्वार / हरिद्वार) is an important Hindu pilgrimage place & also a district head quarter in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Hardwar literally means "Gateway to God or Lord Shiva". Its located on the bank of River Ganges (Ganga), where the river descends from the hills to the Indo-Gangetic plains. Hardwar attracts a lot of Hindu pilgrims from all over the world.
From Delhi its around 200 km

Even though its just 200 km from New Delhi, coz of the traffic & huge crowd, its takes around 5-6 hrs.
From Chandigarh also its around 200 km
Route: Chandigarh -> Yamunanagar -> Roorkee -> Hardwar
Hardwar is a junction & its well connected to other major cities like New Delhi, Howrah, Mumbai, Chennai.
Dehradun's Jolly Grant Airport is the nearest airport, which is around 20 km.

* Har-Ki-Pauri : This is the place where all the devotees take a holy dip in the River Ganges. In the evening around 7 pm & in the early morning around 5 am, there will be an Aarathi to the Godess Ganga, thousands of devotees gather to worship Godess Ganga.
* Chandi Devi Temple: This temple is on top of one of the mountains, only way to reach here is thru cable car. Beware of monkeys on top of the mountain.
* Manasa Devi Temple : Even this temple is on top of one of the mountains & u need to take cable car to reach here. You can get a combi package to visit both Chandi Devi & Manasa Devi Temples, which includes the cable car fare & the bus fare for transportation between the temples & drop to Har-Ki-Pauri.
