Shanthi Sagara or the previous name SuLe Kere, is near Channagiri in Davangere district of the Indian state of Karnataka. It is a very huge lake artificially created for irrigating the surround lands. Water to this lake is fed by the Bhadra Dam's right bank canal.
SuLe Kere is the 2nd largest irrigation tank in Asia. Now this place is being developed as a tourist spot. This lake/tank has a history of 800 yrs, its said to have build during the 11th or 12th century.
Shanti Sagara is around 40 km from Davanagere & around 20 km from Channagiri.
Karnataka Tourism department is building a view point, park & picnic spot on one side of this lake which is around 4 km from the SuLe Kere bus stop while coming from Davangere on SH65.
