Pykara Water Falls & Lake, near Ooty, Tamil Nadu

Pykara is a river around 20 km north west from Ooty in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The river has a dam & a power plant. Due to this dam the back water forms a very big lake kind of a thing which sometimes is also referred to as Pykara Lake. There is a boat house which has boat rides with motor boats. This amazing boat ride with beautiful scenery of the Nilgiri trees in the back drop makes the place very attractive to the tourists. There is also a beautiful water falls - Pykara Falls after the dam, one has to walk half a km from the main road to go to this water falls. There won't be any water in this water falls during the summer, so best time to visit this falls is August - Jan.

  3. Really Interesting Post. Normally, Golden Triangle Pushkar tour welcomes small but continuous number of tourists for its elegant temples and amazing. But once in a year in the month of November when there is the full moon in the sky, there are thousands of people visiting the shrine as pilgrimage.
