Mullayyanagiri Peak is around 20km from Chikmagalur city. We need to take a deviation at Kaimara on the State Highway (SH57) while going from Chikmagalur to Tarikere. Kaimara is ~8km from Chikmagalur. There is a road almost all the way till the peak & there is a parking area. From there its ~300 m walk to the peak with a elevation of ~250ft.

Hot to reach the Peak:
You can drive your own vehicle till the peak parking which is ~11.5 km from the Kaimara junction. There is a small stretch of road near the peak which looks a little scary, but it isn't, there is picture of that stretch of the road below in the post. 4x4 vehicle is preferable but not a must, make sure the tires are in good condition. Try to avoid the rainy season (June-Aug).

You can also hire a Jeep in Chikmagalur to take you to the peak.

Mullayyanagiri Peak Trekking:
The trekking/hiking to Mullayanagiri Peak starts at a point called Sarpadhari (Sarpadhari in Kannada means Serpentine Path). After taking the deviation from Kaimara, after about 6.5km you hit a Y intersection. Now taking left to Mullayanagiri Road will take you directly to the Peak, instead go straight for about 500m & you see a small arch which is the starting point for this trek. Trek distance is ~3km & takes about 3-4Hrs.
