Muir Woods National Monument, California, USA

Muir Woods National Monument is a National Park located in the Marin County, North of the City of San Francisco, California, United States. Its around 12 miles North of San Francisco & has one of the oldest redwood trees. The age of redwood trees here range from 400 - 800 yrs with the height of up to 250 feet. The park is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.



Climate at Muirwoods is mostly cold & moist all year because of the fog coming from the pacific coast. Temperature ranges from 40-70 degrees Fahrenheit. Rains during winter and mostly dry during summer


How to reach Muir Woods National Monument:
Its about 12 miles north of San Francisco, you can either take your own car or take tour/shuttle bus from Sausalito/Marin City. More info on the shuttle bus can be found here. On a regular or long weekends the park gets really crowded & because of limited parking, it gets really difficult to get a parking spot. Hence on a long weekend, its advisable to take shuttle bus.
